An Evening with Mike Gratton
Following our successful online AGM and some subsequent feedback that we have had from our members, our next online club event will be with Mike Gratton for some half marathon and marathon training advice.
Mike won the London marathon in 1983 and now runs 2:09 events. Some of you may have attended the talk he gave last year at the Village hotel in Farnborough where Mike gave a really interesting overview of his experience as a marathon runner and his thoughts and philosophies on training for such events.
Whilst there is still some uncertainty around races that will be available in 2021, having a training plan is the first step in preparing for what opportunities may be available to us this year. So we have asked Mike to talk to us as a club to help kick start our running year.
Please let us know by completing the online form (link below) if you are interested in joining this Zoom session with Mike so we can add you to the invite. It would also be great to think of any questions you may have in advance so that we can make the most of the time we have with Mike on the night.
The session will be on Zoom on Tuesday 16th February at 7:30pm for an hour.
This is a great opportunity to get some good insights from one of the UK’s most experienced marathon runners that could help to add motivation and content to the plans you may or may not already have to take on a half or full marathon distance this year.
Even if you are not planning to run one of these distances in 2021, Mike is a very engaging speaker with great experience and knowledge of our beloved sport so we would recommend you come along.
We look forward to ‘seeing’ you on the night.
